“There is nothing that creates a positive workplace more than the simple act of gratitude” – Speaker Chester Elton One of today’s most influential voices in workplace trends. He has spent two decades helping clients engage their employees to execute on strategy, vision, and values. How do today’s best leaders accelerate business results? By engaging their employees to execute on strategy, vision, and values.

But this isn’t magic. It starts with having a conversation in which leaders share their higher purpose and invite employees to contribute in a way that gives them a sense of higher purpose, too.

In today’s competitive climate it’s more important than ever to have engaged employees. “People leave managers not companies,” Chester Elton says, so when you find yourself being passed up for a promotion by someone from another department or when your star performer decides they’d rather work elsewhere he recommends you ask yourself “Is it them or is it me?”

Your business might be great, but if you have disengaged employees it’s as good as gone. In this presentation, Chester Elton discussed his strategies on how to avoid that.

“There is nothing that creates a positive workplace more than the simple act of gratitude.” What better way to show your employees how much you value them than by thanking them. There’s something about gratitude that inspires people to give their best, Chester Elton said. “It can inspire people to take on challenges they might otherwise avoid and it causes people to act in ways that surpass the expectations of their managers.”

With Chester Elton’s insights in mind, it is easier to create a positive workplace. The WeareinfinityX event was an incredible time of reflection and learning for all attendees. One thing that resonated with everyone in attendance was the many ways our brains are wired to make us happy or unhappy at work–and how we can use this knowledge to improve our own happiness as well as others around us!
